Whilst Developers, Architects, Data Professionals and Project Managers retain their spots at the top of the most sought-after list, the most noticeable increases are for Business Analysts and Networking Professionals. With Programme Manager and Project Manager roles also showing a small increase, Outside Spy co-founder Brian Stalley commented, “Business Analysts are often recruited at the start of projects, so hopefully these numbers provide some reassurance that new IT projects are continuing to be resourced with Outside IR35 professionals, despite the current uncertain economic picture”.

Note on method

The method was to analyse all 1862 current roles and see how often our portfolio of 24 keywords were specified in the Job Title by advertisers. Our portfolio of Keywords contains a mixture of skill-based keywords (eg AWS, Java, SQL) and role-based keywords (eg Project Manager, Business Analyst). The analysis is restricted to the Job Title itself, rather than include the job description, so as to exclude advertisers’ “wish list” of skills.
